My hometown newspaper,
The Wenatchee World, has a great article about how small businesses in our little burg are planning to use
Twitter to increase their success. I saw this presentation and I have to pass on high praise to Geordie Romer, a Leavenworth real estate agent, also of
Icicle Real Estate.com and
Geordie Romer.com. He used effective metaphors (think Twitter as a CB Radio) to help us understand that Twitter is not just a gimmick or a quickly passing fad (which, frankly, I was convinced it was). Instead, think of it as an effective way to build your various communities and to keep your business at “top of mind” (God, is anyone sick of that term yet?).
Here’s a link to the article. It has excellent advice for Twitterers at all skill levels.

Thanks for the kind words. I’m thinking of doing a small scale training session for 10-20 folks. Do you think people would be up for that?
